This letter is heartbreaking and lovely—written from inside Fraterville Coal Mine in 1902, shortly after a huge explosion ripped through it and trapped and killed most of the 916 miners who were inside working. 
"Oh God for one more breath. Ellen remember me as long as you live. Goodbye darling."
